The African Penguin is classified as endangered. Threats to its survival include habitat destruction, overfishing reducing prey availability, pollution, and climate change affecting nesting sites and food sources. Human disturbance, oil spills, and predation by invasive species also contribute to their decline. Conservation efforts such as habitat protection, establishment of protected areas, and measures to reduce human impacts are crucial for the long-term survival of the African Penguin population in the wild.
